Hi, I’m Meg
I learned to stitch from my grandmother.
She taught me everything.
My grandmother loved cross-stitch. She had baskets of floss sorted by color, hoops stacked in every corner, and finished pieces framed on nearly every wall of her home. Some of them she made herself. Some were passed down from her own mother. To her, every stitch was a way of saying, “I was here. I made this for you.”
I am Megan Patrick, a 36-year-old plant lover, pattern collector, and chronic creative project starter. I started Stitch Hiker Company because I wanted cross-stitch patterns that felt more like me: bold, expressive, modern, and fun to display. Not overly dated. Not generic. Just cool designs that are actually enjoyable to stitch.
Every pattern begins as an original design and is carefully turned into a clear, easy-to-follow chart. My shop includes everything from plants and wildlife to landmarks, florals, gothic designs, cozy scenes, and colorful places from around the world.
Why this matters

Cross-stitch is one of the oldest forms of embroidery in the world. For centuries, people have used simple X-shaped stitches to decorate clothing, mark important moments, and tell stories that outlast them. Samplers taught children their alphabet. Wedding gifts carried blessings into new homes. Heirlooms traveled in trunks across oceans.
That history matters. But hobbies only survive if new people feel welcome in them. I started Stitch Hiker Company because I believe cross-stitch deserves to live on — not locked behind old-fashioned designs, but reimagined for today’s makers: busy people, creative people, people who want something beautiful and meaningful to do with their hands.

I want cross-stitch to feel accessible to everyone — not just people who already know the difference between Aida and linen. My charts are clear, my instructions are friendly, and my subjects range from gothic skulls to desert sunsets to cozy shops.
